From March 1st, the new link attributes "sponsored" and "ugc" will have an impact on Google rankings. They complement the attributes "follow" and "nofollow". The new attributes were introduced last September ( we reported ). They stand for sponsored links ("sponsored") and user-generated content ("ugc" = "User Generated Content"). They should help Google to recognize the context of a link even better. The various attributes can even be combined, for example in "ugc sponsored".
You can also include "nofollow" and set a link to "nofollow ugc", for example. This would instruct Google not to follow the link, but at the same time allows you to classify the character of the linked page. The new link attributes are a supplement to the attributes "follow" and "nofollow". Sponsored links should previously be set to "nofollow". In addition to the rcs data morocco colors black and white, the new attributes now also symbolically include shades of gray. The new attributes have been recorded by Google since September, but are not expected to have an impact on rankings until the beginning of the month.
Pages with sponsored links that are set to "nofollow" are on the safe side and do not necessarily have to take action. In this case, it is not necessary to adjust all of these links now. Anyone who wants to adjust these link attributes can do so during the next revision of their website. However, websites with user-generated content (forums, user blogs, etc.) can benefit from setting their internal links to "ugc" if they are currently set to "nofollow". We are excited to see how these changes will affect future rankings. Pages that are pointed to by sponsored links and websites with user-generated content are likely to benefit most from this. They have often been neglected in terms of backlinks so far because many of the incoming links were set to "nofollow
