Vagabond Links: Polish Law Against Discovery

Poland vs. Discovery – This week the Polish Sejm voted in favor of the new broadcasting law proposed by the nationalist Law and Justice (PiS) party currently in power. This law stipulates, among other things, that Polish media cannot be owned more than 49% by foreign groups . The conditions for voting on this text are controversial and its impact on the freedom of information and expression of Poles is worrying. This new law actually only impacts the country's main private channel, TVN, which gambling data asia is currently owned by the American group Discovery , but also one of the only media outlets giving voice to opponents . As tensions rise between the United States and Poland, the Polish Prime Minister brushes aside criticism and Discovery plans legal action .
