For definitions of the information annexes, see Appendix D. A term, if defined, is defined in either Section 2 or Appendix D. 2.1 A-0 diagram: A special type of single-component (context) IDEF0 diagram consisting of a single block describing the top-level function, its inputs, outputs, controls, and mechanisms, together with statements of the purpose of the model and the viewpoint from which the model is constructed. 2.2 Arrow: A directed line consisting of one or more segments that models an open channel or a channel carrying data or material objects from a source (the starting point of the arrow) to a consumer (the end point with a "tip").
There are 4 classes of arrows: input arrow, output afghanistan whatsapp number data arrow, control arrow, mechanism arrow (includes call arrow). (See: arrow segment, boundary arrow, internal arrow). 2.3 Arrow label: A noun or noun phrase associated with an arrow or arrow segment and defining its meaning. 2.4 Arrow Segment: A line segment that begins or ends on a block side, at a branch or merge point, or at a boundary (the unconnected end of an arrow) 2.5 Boundary arrow: An arrow with one end connected to a source or consumer and the other end not connected to any block in the diagram.
Shows the diagram's relationship to other blocks in the system and is different from an internal arrow. 2.6 Block: A rectangle containing a name and a number and used to describe a function. 2.7 Block name: a verb or verb phrase placed inside the block that describes the function being modeled. 2.8 Block Number: A number (0-6) placed in the lower right corner of a block that uniquely identifies the block on the diagram. 2.9 Branching: A connection or division of two or more arrow segments. 2.10 Binding/Unbinding: Combining arrow values into a composite value (binding into a "bundle"), or separating arrow values (unbinding into a "bundle"), expressed by the merging or branching syntax.
