The role of trust in organizational relationships

Trust plays an important role in the social spheres of people and organizations, intervening directly in the processes of communication, cooperation, teamwork and also in negotiations and organizational relationships (López, Vásquez and Corrales, 2015).

Have we thought about how much we depend on it?

From what I have seen in interpersonal relationships in a community, association and even between entrepreneur/client relationships, we are increasingly less co-constructing relationships of trust, and this is due to a series of factors, including:

We are increasingly focused on individual achievements
Technology has led us to relate less and less
We make commitments, but we don't deliver.
We are less aware of the needs of others
And if we think about it from a more business perspective, mainly from the entrepreneurial perspective, we fall so in love with our product that we lose sight of any factor that affects a business relationship, even australia business email list SMEs free of charge on topics that the relationship with the client or the relationship with our employee. Therefore, any relationship of trust, however transactional it may be, always makes us dependent on it, since dealing with the client is important, the commitments we make with our employees or the factors we have in common with the different support networks with which we are involved, favor relationships of trust.

How to strengthen relationships of trust?

To strengthen relationships of trust, and especially from the first approach, the invitation is always to exploit our personal characteristics, since through them we can lay some foundations that allow for a better relationship. Some tips to consider:

Giving ourselves space for dialogue is about seeking affinity with the other.
Trust is built from a rather horizontal relationship… barriers or gaps are eliminated, especially if we are at different levels.
Fulfill commitments and, in cases where you cannot fulfill them, seek to take charge of the consequences.
Be transparent in providing information.
Say things to each other in a kind and respectful manner.
Understand the limits that each one has and recognize the experience of the other.
When there is trust, people relate in a more united way, adopt a common purpose, take risks, and help each other… the key is in yourself!
