Perception and communication styles

Post by Maksudasm »

Cultural and stylistic differences and preferences are significant obstacles to effective communication. However, this problem is easily solved, since in a business environment one cannot do without developed communication skills.

On the coordinate axes, personal styles and communication preferences can be arranged as follows:

direct versus indirect;

task-oriented vs. people-oriented.

There are 4 communication employment database styles used by different personality types:

direct and task-oriented (the group includes directors, managers, presidents);

direct and people-oriented (salespeople and PR people);

indirect and task-oriented (accounting and technical staff);

indirect and people-oriented (the group is represented by HR managers and administrators).

Usually, all of the listed personality types are present in teams and all of the named communication styles are used. It should be borne in mind that the categories are generalized; in reality, communication styles, preferences, and relationships intersect and combine.
