Since May 23, Transbank has eliminated the option to issue electronic invoices from its POS and the Transbank portal, for purchases made with cash or any means of payment other than a credit, debit or prepaid card.
This measure was taken following a resolution by the Financial Market Commission (CMF) and a court ruling, which states that current regulations do not authorize banking support companies to process cash transactions. Thus, the company will stop providing this service in conjunction with SOVOS.
The idea of using POS to process more types of payments was attractive for SMEs and startups, however, with this resolution, all doors were closed to this possibility.
What actions should you take in your business?
To help its customers in this transition, Transbank has facebook database several measures. The first of these is to enable a portal from which entrepreneurs can continue to issue electronic cash receipts. To do so, users must create a password.
Companies will also be able to view invoices issued with other payment methods on the Transbank portal and will receive, at no additional cost, 20,000 additional monthly invoices to their plan for issuances with other payment methods.
In the case of businesses that only accept card payments, this change will have no effect and they will be able to continue issuing their invoices as normal.
