What is a search engine?
A search engine is a computer system that collects files stored on web servers and interior designers email database then offers them to the user who has performed a search. This information gathering is done through bots or web spiders .
What is a bot or spider?
Before answering this question, it is important to note that SEOs like to use different names for the same concept, so you may find that we call bots the same things:
spider
web crawler
crawler
spider
A bot is responsible for crawling and indexing content collected on the World Wide Web (Internet).
In other words, a bot is responsible for entering a web page and reading all the data that the page offers. In this way, it understands what it is about and, subsequently, categorizes it and saves it in the search engine index.
What do we mean by crawling?
Improve your SEO!
We refer to crawling when a bot searches for and enters a web page. The spider can only find a page through a link, in the same way as a user does. Therefore, a page that is not linked cannot be crawled.
What do we mean by indexing?
Once a page has been crawled, the bot categorizes it and saves it to the index . This process is what we mean by indexing.
Just because a bot crawls a page doesn't mean it will be indexed. That's why it's very important that the bot can first access the page and, second, understand what it's about.
From a more technical point of view, if the bot cannot enter the page, it will not be able to read all the SEO guidelines that we give it and, therefore, it will ignore them.
Summarizing
A search engine like Google, in order to offer a page as a valuable organic result , needs our page to be able to:
Being tracked.
Be indexable.
And once indexed, it resolves the user's search intent , that is, it is a useful result that answers the query posed.
Therefore, our goal, as SEOs, will be for Google to consider our page relevant. In this way, when a user performs a search, it will position it in the SERP .
