Video Call Recordings from Desktop App

There is no doubt that recording your meetings, discussions, and screen shows can be useful in certain situations. Video call recordings are now available in Bitrix24. Note: You need to update the Bitrix24 desktop app in advance and press the record button during the video call .

You can record audio, video of the active window, and usa numbers list a demo of your colleagues' screen. Once the call or recording ends, the video file is saved locally and you can share it with all participants in the call chat.

There are some plan limits to consider, though. On the free plan, call recording, background usage, and screen sharing are only available for the first 100 successful calls longer than 30 seconds. If you want unlimited recordings, consider Bitrix24 commercial plans . There are no limits on call recording, background usage, and screen sharing.

To start recording a call in the Bitrix24 desktop application, press the record button. You can record audio, video, and screen sharing of the active window.

During recording, information about the recording time will be displayed at the top of the window. Press the record button again to finish recording.

When the call or recording ends, the video file is saved locally. It is then automatically synced to the user's Drive. You can share the recording with all participants in the call chat.

IMPORTANT: If Bitrix24.Disk is not connected to the desktop application, you will be asked to enable Disk first and then share the recording.

A link to the file is sent to the chat. You can download the recording to your disk or computer, or watch it directly in the chat.

Save Record

Where are the log files stored?
Recorded calls are stored in Bitrix24 under My Disk > Video Call Recordings .

On your computer, recordings are stored in the following folders:

Windows : Videos > Video Call Recordings
MacOS : Movies > Video Call Recordings
Files are saved in the format: Chat name (or interlocutor name) – Call {number} – {call date}.webm.

If there are several records during a search session, the file name is followed by the record number in parentheses after the date.

Call recording features

Call recording is only available in the Bitrix24 app for Windows and Mac.
On the free plan, it is possible to record only the first 100 successful searches that are over 30 seconds in duration.
There are no limits on commercial plans.
Only one person can record a call.
If you close the Bitrix24 desktop application while recording a call, the recording will be stopped. During the next launch of the application, the system will offer to synchronize the recording and share it with the call participants.
If it's a one-on-one conversation and then more participants are invited, the current recording will automatically end and a new one will start. The first recording will be sent to the one-on-one chat, and the next recording will be sent to the group chat.
The employee recording the call cannot record text chat windows.
If the person recording the call shares their screen, it will be recorded. If the displayed window is blocked by something, the top part of the screen will be recorded.
