To locate and mask your sensitive data, scan all your systems and applications across the board.
Once we have identified what sensitive data is, we must find out where that data is located .

Legal regulations have provided us with what we are going to try to mask and the business has provided us with other additional data on what to mask , so the next step would be to search within our organization (applications, databases, etc.) where that data resides .

There are several strategies to find out where this sensitive data resides. One of them would be to try to locate applications with the largest amount of sensitive data , and attack that application first, since it will give us 80% of our work.

We start with the application that has the largest amount of sensitive data because this will allow us to measure the scope of our reviews . This review must include the relationships that the applications and fantuan database may have as a whole and not just as a unit, because the information travels throughout the company and maintains an integrity that also has to be masked, since otherwise a basic point of data masking is not met, which is to produce real and coherent data.
