“What’s wrong with Facebook? It doesn’t work!” What to do if FB is giving you problems
Posted: Mon Jan 20, 2025 10:34 am
Are you wondering what's going on with Facebook today? Is Facebook not working? Don't panic, in this short guide I'll go over what you can do if you're having problems with Facebook. So relax, take a deep breath and read on.
What's up with Facebook?
Okay, Facebook is not working, so the first thing you need to do is to find out what the problem is (mostly to see if it is in your hands). There are two options:
You can't log into your Facebook account
Facebook is down
I am going to analyze each of these situations and student database to you how to proceed in each case.
You can't log into your Facebook account
The Facebook website loads fine but it won't let you log in. Basically, it could be due to two things:
You have entered an incorrect password (or an incorrect email address). In this case, please follow the steps to recover your account.
Your account has been penalized. This means that you have violated one of Facebook's policies. This is hard to fix, but you can try contacting Facebook .
If what happens is that the website does not load, it is possible that we are facing a Facebook crash .
How to know if Facebook is down
The first thing you need to do is check if your Internet connection is working properly. To do this, just try visiting any other website. Once you've ruled out connection problems, let's move on to the next step.
If you're on a laptop, try accessing Facebook from multiple browsers, including Internet Explorer (a site that only works in Internet Explorer is one of the signs of the apocalypse).
No luck with your computer? Try logging into Facebook on your mobile. Still no success? Then the site is probably down. Don't panic, get out of the house and ask your neighbours if they can log into their Facebook account. If you're the only one affected by the problem, you may have an internet connection problem after all (call your ISP and complain bitterly).
If your neighbors can't log into Facebook either, there's no doubt that something serious is going on in Palo Alto (where Facebook has its headquarters). Do a final check by calling your friends and/or family to see if they can't log into Facebook either. If not, call 911 and sound the alarm.
We don't know why Facebook might be down, it could be a server overload, an update in progress, a computer failure, an atomic bomb... In any case, the authorities have already been notified thanks to you. Gather all your neighbours and go to the safest place in the building: the garage or the roof. Once there, wait patiently for the Government's instructions. Normally, Facebook service will be restored to normal within a few hours, but you never know if it could be days, months or even years.
It's important to reassure children that everything will be okay (even if you know it won't). You can tell them stories from when Facebook didn't exist and people had to interact face to face and couldn't express their mood with an emoticon.
Good luck and may God help us.
What to do if Facebook is not working
Well, maybe I was too dramatic. Facebook crashes don't last long. It's time you can use to do other interesting things like talking to your family, hanging out with your friends, reading a good book or watching your favorite Netflix series (I hope Netflix never crashes, for God's sake). Or, I don't know, whatever you like best.
