In 2014, Sinaps acted as a technical partner for the Center for Fiscal Policy . One of us simply decided that we needed to try. And, I must say, we gained interesting experience in a previously unknown area.

The result of the work was the Budget Calculator. This development by key features of office 365 database Synapse helps to understand the principles of the formation of the budget of the Russian Federation and explains what the state spends money on. Anyone can try on the role of a state budget distributor and send their version to the Government.

In the first working week of January, we presented this unique teaching aid to Vladimir Putin. Not by ourselves – Valentina Artamonova, Head of the Department of Finance of the Vologda Region, helped us with the presentation. The President approved and praised our project.

Today, the Budget Calculator operates in six pilot regions:

The Synapse team sincerely believes that the Budget Calculator helps solve high government tasks. We designed the interface and architecture of the service in such a way that it is understandable even to housewives. The Budget Calculator is a great way to assess the complexity of the work of financiers and governors. We hope that the project will develop and grow.
