#2: User Behavior and Experience

Our take: We think giving users more control over iraq b2b leads their feeds is a smart move for TikTok. Historically, this algorithm has made TikTok very good at showing relevant videos. However, spam and irrelevant content sometimes slip through. The new feature allows users to specify in natural language what content they want to see more or less of. This chatbot-style input should allow users to improve their feeds. As marketers, we are also interested in the opportunity to encourage audiences to use this feature to view more content.

TikTok closes $1 billion creator fund
TikTok has announced that it will close its $1 billion creator fund on December 16, 2023. After this, creators in the U.S., U.K., Germany and France will no longer be able to monetize their content through the Original Creators Fund, a TikTok spokesperson said. However, TikTok creators in Italy and Spain will not be affected by this change. The fund aims to support and incentivize creators on the platform.

Our take: We think TikTok's move away from inadequate creator funding and towards a more advanced monetization model is a good move. The Creator Fund is known to pay creators less than their viewership. Huge accounts with billions of views sometimes only make thousands of dollars. The new model seems to be more fair. Interestingly, many creators also reported a drop in viewership after joining the Creator Fund, which may indicate that viewers are seeing more ads. While cause and effect has not been proven, the correlation suggests there is a problem with Creator Funds. Guest Tiktok expert Austin Armstrong quickly discovered that the Creator Fund was no good, and he quit the program. TikTok deserves credit for making progress in properly paying creators. With increased revenue potential, top creators will be incentivized to remain active on TikTok, which could further boost TikTok's dominance as the platform reinvents social video.
