The economy of the Tambov region has shown positive dynamics since the beginning of 2023

According to the results of the first nine months of the current year, industry, agriculture, and construction show growth compared to 2022. As noted by the Government of the Tambov Region, this has a positive effect on the socio-economic situation in the region.

Industrial production volume increased by 8.5% (RF – 3.3%, Central Federal District – 11.5%). This is 9th place in the Central Federal District. The dynamics are largely determined by the activity of manufacturing industries, the share of which exceeds 92%. More than half of the structure of the manufacturing sector is occupied by food production. Significant volumes of vegetable oil, cheese, flour and sugar were produced.

The value of gross agricultural output increased by 18.1% (RF – 1.3%). This was mainly achieved due to the growth of sunflower harvest (6.2 times), sugar beet (by 67.7%), grain and leguminous crops (by 6.4%).

The increase in gross harvest is due to the pace of harvesting and higher btc users database yields compared to 2022. Farmers achieved these results by upgrading equipment, increasing the application of fertilizers to the soil by 10 percent, and using the latest technologies for cultivating agricultural crops.

In addition, based on the results of 9 months of 2023, the Tambov region ranks fifth in Russia in terms of livestock and poultry meat production (live weight). Thus, the region has two large broiler poultry farms with a total capacity of 300 thousand tons of poultry meat in live weight. One enterprise for the production of turkey meat in the amount of 80 thousand tons in live weight. Four enterprises for the production of pork meat in the amount of 260 thousand tons.

Despite the departure of foreign companies from the Russian market, thanks to import substitution programs in the region over the past 3 years, there has been an increase in industrial production volumes. It was provided mainly by the metalworking, chemical industries, the production of electronic and optical products, and leather goods.
