Half a million tons of sugar were produced in the Tambov region

Every day, five sugar factories in the region, which are located in the Uvarovsky, Znamensky, Nikiforovsky, Kirsanovsky, and Zherdevsky districts, process 40 thousand tons of sugar beets and produce about 5 thousand tons of sugar.

According to the Tambov Region Ministry of Agriculture, the region has produced more than half a million tons of sugar since the beginning of the year. This is 13% more than the same period in 2023.

Every day, five sugar factories in the region, which are located in the Uvarovsky, Znamensky, Nikiforovsky, Kirsanovsky, and Zherdevsky districts, process 40 thousand tons of sugar beets and produce about 5 thousand tons of sugar.

The raw material is sugar beet grown by farmers in the region. The beet is delivered from Tambov fields to processing plants. As of today, 98% of the crops have been harvested - this is over 4.4 million tons. More than half of the new bc data taiwan harvest has been delivered to sugar factories. About 2.3 million tons of them have already been processed. No shortage of raw materials is expected at the region's sugar factories.

Sugar beet is one of the traditional crops grown on Tambov black soil. This year, 116 thousand hectares were sown with beet.
