Active networking

Post by sohanuzzaman56 »

Yesterday, Barcelona Activa was the venue where a large number of professionals and those interested in Networking met to listen, ask questions and debate. The day focused on the presentation of 6 professionals and a question and answer session afterwards.

I will briefly outline the main themes of each speaker here:

José Antonio Gallego . President of the Spanish Association of Online mom data Community Managers and Community Manager at BBVA. 'Web 2.0: Transforming the company'.

Human beings are complex but they have basic needs and motivations. These motivations for doing things are three: obligation, money and fun. In Web 2.0 the only motivation that counts is fun.

And why does Web 2.0 transform the company? The case of Obama's electoral campaign was a compelling example:

Collecting donations through conventional methods:

Obama: $250 million.

McCain: $285 million.

Collecting donations via the Internet and online tools 2.0

Obama $500 million. And all donations under $50.

McCain: $75 million.

Web 2.0 changes the world.

– Cristina García . Community Marketing Manager at XING Spain. 'XING, your ally to find a job or improve your professional situation'.

He commented that social networks do not provide magic formulas, and gave 6 tips to improve the use of the professional platform Xing, achieving greater visibility in each person's professional profile.

1) Complete the profile, not only with basic information, but also by filling in the “I am looking for”, “I offer” and “Interests” sections with keywords (and not phrases).

2) Create a quality network of contacts

3) Use the job search engine

4) Participate in interest groups

5) Check out the profiles of companies that are interesting

6) Participate in offline events (main difference between Xing and other platforms)

Xing has 8 million users in Europe and 1 million in Spain, making it a leading professional network.
