Capgemini ’s World Quality Report 2018 highlights that customer experience is, for the first time, the number one priority for quality assurance.

Capgemini and Sogeti today presented the tenth edition of the World Quality Report (WQR), co-authored with Micro Focus . For several years, the importance of end-customer experience has been steadily increasing, but for the first time, IT professionals have ranked customer experience as the top priority for Quality Assurance (QA) activities. Furthermore, the report highlights the convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning , and analytics and their ability to enable intelligent automation as the most disruptive force driving transformation in QA and testing over the next two to three years.

The scores collected show that the ability to “ensure shop end-customer satisfaction” is the top priority, followed by the need to “identify software defects before the launch phase,” and finally, “increase the quality of software or products” in last place.

Artificial intelligence , predictive analytics and smart test automation ensure that a high level of end-customer satisfaction is achieved through QA

The report shows that, thanks to the predominance of customer experience objectives , companies are already using Artificial Intelligence to optimize Quality Assurance . Up to 45% of respondents say they have implemented intelligent automation, while 57% say they have started experimenting with new approaches to testing intelligent applications. Furthermore, 59% of the companies surveyed said they will focus on predictive analytics next year , 54% are interested in robotics automation , and 35% in machine learning .
