In this article I present the results of the research and give guidelines and tips for generating leads via social media as a B2B company. Something that will not be strange to you is that social media is 'volatile'. With the survey I achieved a total reach of approximately 200,000 users, of which 295 eventually responded. Half of these went via Facebook, after which Twitter generated the most response.

The fact that Facebook is also becoming increasingly popular for business purposes is evident from the fact that latvia phone number list more than half of the respondents indicate that they also use this medium for business purposes. The list of 'business' social media is – not surprisingly – headed by LinkedIn, followed by Twitter. YouTube and Google+ end up behind Facebook and Slideshare is the last. When we look at the way in which social media are used, we see that networking, following current affairs and obtaining professional information are important drivers .

Videos and blogs stand head and shoulders above the rest, followed by references and white papers. Brochures are the least interesting according to respondents.

The business social media user prefers to consume content via LinkedIn, followed by Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. SlideShare is preferred over Google+ when it comes to consuming business content. I also looked at the influence of social media on a business purchasing decision. This influence appears to be small. It should be noted that the subconscious of the business decision maker was not investigated here. Generating leads is therefore not considered a purchasing decision.
