'Somantics' (2010) is a series of different software modules, intended to make autistic children aware of the possibilities of their body, to give them more self-confidence and to make them more independent. Visitors can move in front of the camera and see how this affects the shapes in the projection. Try this at home? On Somantics.org you can download the modules for iPad, Mac and PC. A more musical and imaginative tool for self-expression is the Biophilia App by Björk. You won't find it in the museum, but you can find it in the App Store.

Social innovation
Manouk Essen is conducting her Master's degree in Work and Organizational Psychology research into Social Innovation at the Amsterdam housing corporation Eigen Haard. According to Manouk, Dutch companies score very low when it comes to social innovation. Based on the results of the Erasmus Competitiveness and Innovation Monitor 2005-2010, it appears that technological innovations explain 25 percent of the innovation success, while social innovations account for 75 percent.

By social innovation we mean the development of new management skills (dynamic management), latvia phone number list the use of flexible organizational principles (flexible organization) and the realization of high-quality forms of work (smarter working and talent development) in order to increase competitiveness and productivity (Volberda, 2011). Investments in social innovation ensure, among other things, higher productivity (+21%) and higher innovativeness (+31%).

In addition, socially innovative companies are better able to attract new customers (+17%), have more satisfied employees (+12%) and a higher turnover (+16%) and profit growth (+13%), and yet Dutch companies pay more attention to technological than to social innovations, says Manouk.
