Suspicious or Scam-Related Reasons
More commonly, these calls can be linked to international call-back scams, often referred to as “Wangiri” scams. The word "Wangiri" is Japanese for “one ring and cut,” and that's exactly what happens:

You receive a call from an unfamiliar +371 number.

The call disconnects quickly, leaving a missed call notification.

If you call back, you may be connected to a premium-rate number.

You are charged a high fee per minute, and the scammer profits from your return call.

Common Signs of a +371 Missed Call Scam
The number looks suspicious, with random digits or no caller ID.

You don’t know anyone in Latvia or have no latvia phone number list reason to receive calls from there.

The caller doesn’t leave a voicemail or follow up.

Examples of suspicious numbers:

+371 66123456

+371 28XXXXXX

+371 numbers with odd patterns or foreign-sounding voicemail prompts

What to Do if You Receive a Missed Call from +371
Here are some steps to follow:

1. Do Not Call Back Immediately
Avoid calling unknown international numbers back unless you know the caller or expect the call. If it’s important, they’ll likely call again or leave a message.

2. Google the Number
Search the number online. Many scam numbers are reported by other users on forums or databases like:

WhoCallsMe.com

800Notes.com

TrueCaller.com

3. Block the Number
