In the Netherlands, each network

Tone of voice has its own tone of voice. Facebook is lively and friendly, but to a certain extent, because as a company you cannot enter into a conversation too informally. Starting a message with 'Heeey Bastiaan, how are you now?' can result in some strange looks. Twitter, on the other hand, is mainly topic-oriented, direct/immediate and personal. This is not the case in Suriname. It does not matter where you communicate with someone online, it is always friendly, informal and with the feeling that you have known each other for years. However, there is a great difference in tone of voice within Surinamese society. The housewife who is friendly and distant and is looking for the right information, a student who uses many abbreviations and English terms and is purely focused on entertainment, or the businessman who wants to know when it is interesting to fly to Amsterdam, for example. In short, the cultural differences contribute to a different tone of voice for each medium. In this case, culture is mainly country-specific, but in some cases also certainly group-specific.
Lack of strategy
The reason why companies in Suriname switch from a france phone number list group page to a fan page or simply use Facebook and do not look at other networks, is actually a lack of strategy. The confusion or lack of knowledge is not something that only occurs in Suriname, it happens worldwide and therefore also in the Netherlands. A solid strategy can help companies with this, it gives them something to hold on to and can help them in the right direction. A strategy shows how you as a company can use social media as a means to achieve your objectives. For example, Surinam Airways has clearly chosen to improve customer service, create more brand awareness and build an online community with the aim of co-creation and crowdsourcing.
Different ingredients to make Roti
There are several ingredients needed to come to the well-known dish Roti. This is no different with social media, there are several components that ensure that you as a company can use social media in a good way. Just like Surinam Airways and TBL Cinemas, stay close to your own (business strategy) and philosophy. And have a clear goal in mind, do you want to improve the current service, just like Surinam Airways or do you choose to be more in touch with your target group (TBL Cinemas)? In short, take the golden rule with you in your approach, social media is an additional means to support your current business activities and not a separate goal!
