More than 1 in 3 Dutch people are over 50 years old. The vast majority can be found online every day and half use social networks. The fastest growing segment on social media? The 65-plusser! High time to take a look at who these vital seniors of today actually are, what they do and how you can best reach and seduce them online.
In this first article I look at who today's seniors actually are. In a second article I will discuss how to best reach seniors online.
The Netherlands now has more than 6 million seniors. Of the 55 to 65 year olds, estonia phone number list more than 8 out of 10 are regularly on the internet, of which more than three quarters daily. Of the 65 to 75 year olds, almost 6 out of 10 are online, 94% even daily or weekly. More than half of the 50-plussers are not yet retired and many work full-time. Houses are almost paid off, children have left home. Just a few more years of work and then enjoy life carefree, the money you have built up, good health and all the free time.
