In 2020, a "5G call for tenders" aimed at developing content based on 5G was launched by the Taiwanese Ministry of Economic Affairs. This mechanism, on which TAICCA and the Taipei National Theater have notably positioned themselves, helped to bring out the idea that with 5G networks, its weight in key IT sectors and its support system for the XR industry, Taiwan was well placed to become a leading player in the creation of tomorrow's content. Towards an awareness of the industrial issues associated with the metaverse TAICCA played a decisive role in raising awareness of the industrial challenges associated with the metaverse.

The French Office to this structure, in conjunction with instagram database entrepreneur and innovation specialist Antoine Cardon (El-Gabal), led an internal evangelization effort motivated by the need to anticipate trends in the creation and monetization of cultural content, and the conviction that Taiwan presents a favorable environment for the creation of content for the metaverse. This work led to the choice of the "metaverse" as the theme of the 2nd edition of the "Taiwan Creative Content Fest" (TCCF), TAICCA's creative content festival, and to the selection of a French VR experience, Bedlam (El-Gabal) as a proof of concept in the framework of the 5G call for tenders.

In line with its actions in the XR field, the French Office supports the rise of this theme among its partners. As part of the Taiwan Creative Content Fest – whose discussions focused on the evolution of cultural content in the era of the metaverse – the post organized, in conjunction with TAICCA, a showcase of two VR experiences that were the subject of a co-production between France and Taiwan, The Starry Sand Beach (Lucid Realities Studio), co-directed by Huang Hsin-Chien – one of the most prominent Taiwanese VR creators, and Bedlam (mentioned above).
