To filter sessions, select Acquisition from the left menu, then All Traffic. Google Analytics allows you to view total sessions by channel, treemap, sourcemedium, and referral.
Select SourceMedium to see your top traffic sources and how each one performs.
Each session has an expiration time and can end in three ways:
1. Time-based expiration : When a user does not interact with the site for 30 minutes, the session will automatically end. Google will reset the 30-minute countdown on each interaction.
2. End of day expiration: Sessions will automatically expire at new zealand mobile database the end of the day based on your time zone settings. If a user visits your site at 11:59 PM and leaves after 5 minutes, two sessions will be counted.
3. Activity-based expiration: If a user returns to your site through a different activity source, the session will expire. If someone arrives at your site through a Facebook activity, leaves, and then returns through a Google Ads activity, then this will be counted as two different sessions.
How to Find Sessions in Google Analytics
To see how many sessions your site gets over a set time period:
1. Open Google Analytics.
2. In the left column of Google Analytics, select the Audience tab, then select Overview.
3. In the Overview report, Google Analytics displays the total number of sessions for each specified time period.
