Adding this hierarchy to your pages and categorizing them helps your users and Google understand every page you write. When implementing a category structure, be sure to add your main categories to your site’s main menu.

The structure of your site will also benefit from adding tags. The difference between categories and tags is mostly to do with structure. Categories are hierarchical: you can have subcategories, and even subcategories of them. Tags, however, don't have this hierarchy. Tags simply say, "Hey, this post or product has some kind of attribute that might be interesting jamaica mobile database to visitors." Think of it this way: categories are the site's table of contents, and tags are the index. A tag for the online clothing store mentioned above might be a brand, for example, Timberlands.

Try not to create too many tags. If you add a new unique tag to every post or article, you won't build any following. Make sure you use each tag at least twice, and make sure your tag groups articles that truly belong together.

Some WordPress themes display tags for each post, but some don’t. Make sure your tags are available to your visitors somewhere, preferably at the bottom of the post or in a sidebar. Google isn’t the only site that likes tags: they’re also useful to your visitors, who may want to read more about the same topic.
