I hardly dare say this in 2022: But in fact, in my experience, the fear of overly positive self-characterizations still comes more from women than from men.
Of course, this is just a personal or anecdotal experience, even though I conduct many workshops and individual coaching sessions with corporate influencers every year. But from conversations, I conclude that I am not the only one who perceives it this way.
Even today, girls and young women are often told that they chinese america data should be kind and modest above all else. It is up to all of us to actively work towards finally changing that!
Some passages in this article may give the impression that it is very important to constantly pay attention to how others perceive you. But that is not what is meant. In my view, a happy person is someone who does not constantly think about how they appear to others. This way of thinking leads to dissociation, it separates people from themselves.
For me, however, the following is not a contradiction: to confidently represent what I can and know. Or at least to work on it, especially with a view to the bigger picture and the benefit it creates for everyone. For me, self-confidence also means that my self-image and the image others have of me are close together. Because then I don't have to constantly look at the effect.
And then my appearance on social networks, as a personal brand, which of course has aspects of staging by definition simply because of the media coverage, reflects me as a person - in the aspects that I want to show about myself, for example in order to advance topics, achieve goals or put my own visibility at the service of a good cause.
