It's on everyone's lips right now: the metaverse - a convergence of the physical and digital worlds that offers people and brands a new place to interact, create, consume and make money.

And even though there are still more middle east rcs data questions than answers today, 2022 could be the year when virtual parallel worlds become pop culture.

So it’s high time to get to the bottom of the matter.

If you want to understand the opportunities that the metaverse presents for brands, you first have to understand how it works. Here are the six building blocks that make up the new virtual-real world.

1. Anatomy of gaming worlds: Gaming worlds like Roblox and Fortnite are in many ways pioneers of the metaverse of tomorrow. And even if they are not the big drivers of the metaverse in terms of numbers, as is often assumed (Snapchat, for example, has more than four times as many daily active users as Roblox and Fortnite combined), it is important to understand why people visit such virtual worlds: firstly, to compete with others and achieve something; secondly, to make contacts and experience something together with them; and thirdly, to break out of everyday life and mentally immerse themselves in their own themed world or story.
