Sandro Brotz, moderator of the "Arena", asked SVP parliamentary group leader Thomas Aeschi on the political show whether he was an "arsonist". Brotz asked the question because the SVP politician had said in the National Council that it should not be the case that Nigerians or Iraqis suddenly rape 18-year-old Ukrainian women.
This statement was described as racist. Aeschi greece rcs data admitted that he had made a mistake. Unfortunately, he had not mentioned that the statement referred to a case in Germany. After the apology, Brotz really lashed out: "What you said is racist. Period. Exclamation mark!" Aeschi's justification was "quite cheap".
After this lecture from the moderator, the SVP decided to boycott the "Arena" until further notice ( persoenlich.com reported ). Media boycotts are nothing new. I have always advised interest groups against burning bridges. The boycott is tantamount to refusing to talk. First, it was the Greens who refused to take part in the "Arena" with Aeschi.
Brotz has done the SRG a disservice
