Both stories are actually aimed at childhood memories and the magic of Christmas. WestJet, however, is much more intense than Spanair. It starts with WestJet portraying little helpers who prepare everything in the dark and hidden, and continues with the interaction with Santa Claus, who writes down the wishes. The destination is also lavishly decorated, just as you would expect at Christmas. With Spanair, on the other hand, the presents are the only thing that is Christmassy.

The two videos show in comparison how differently the same story can be constructed. The more intense portrayal of the characters allows viewers to build a bond. The Christmas decorations give the whole thing a strong visual framework. In my opinion, however, the most important thing is the sound through which emotions are conveyed. So not all stories are the same, it all depends on how they are presented.

In addition to the preparation, seeding or outreach may also have made a difference, but this is difficult to compare in retrospect.
