But is it necessary to have a very fast internet connection to have all this?

Does the internet influence VoIP?

VoIP technology works as follows: an analog signal is transformed into a digital signal, which is then encoded and sent over the internet. This means that its operation is completely dependent on an internet connection.

This technology has been around since the early 1990s, but it didn't get much attention from society because it wasn't very efficient. There were some obstacles to making it work at that time, such as dial-up internet and a landline telephone line, with a transmission signal that worked very slowly. In other words, the quality of calls was extremely low, with a lot of noise, and calls often even dropped, causing contact with the customer to be lost and the customer to be dissatisfied with the service offered. But it was still an alternative that was used.

After a few years, technology evolved, presenting great improvements, and dial-up internet was gradually no longer used. Although this was an important step, anyone who thinks that to use VoIP you need to have the best internet in the world is mistaken. Factors such as bandwidth, or whether the internet is fiber optic or not, will not determine how well your calls work.

So what will influence the use of VoIP in my company? What criteria should I use to choose an internet connection for my company? How will I know which internet connection to choose?

We know this is a complicated topic, with a lot of confusing terms, so we'll explain it in more detail.
