Ideal product information management

Post by ishanijerin1 »

So how should product information be managed?

The answer is simply "centralized management."

"Centralized data management" is a common theme in many fields, but it is also important in managing product information. While basic information may be centrally managed throughout the company using Master Data Management (MDM), the "product information" needed to sell and promote products should be managed separately. Doing so will eliminate time lags and omissions in reflecting product information. It also eliminates the need for personal tasks such as contacting the relevant department to confirm items managed by other departments. It reduces the hassle and allows for safe management, so there is cash app database no reason not to centralize management.

If you only consider this, it may be possible to create and manage folders for each product on an internal shared server. However, this can be a considerable effort to check whether necessary data items are missing and to ensure data quality. It may also happen that the same data items are set in multiple files. When you get into this situation, it can be time-consuming to determine which data is correct.

To solve these problems, it is effective to introduce a system called PIM (Product Information Management), which was developed for managing product information .

Benefits of PIM
Introducing PIM has many benefits other than just centralized management of product information.

First, by linking the PIM with media such as the web, e-commerce sites, and catalogs, the distribution of product information can be made more efficient. By simply updating the product information in the PIM, the information on each media can be updated automatically. If this were to be done manually, it would require coordination with multiple departments in charge of the web, e-commerce sites, catalogs, etc., and ultimately the information would have to be updated several weeks later.
