After going through a quick guide and doing a little test, the benefits of using our teacher database you'll be taken to your desktop to start designing. You'll find that the default options are numerous, as they can be used to create album covers, book covers, banners, brochures, business cards, infographics, photo collages, postcards, posters, and much more.



Your first design

After selecting the green “Create a Design” button in the image above, you will arrive at the sanctuary of design and creativity. On your left you will see a menu of tools to choose a background, edit text, add graphics, as well as the option to search for images and other elements you need for your design. Some images cost $1, which is paid after publishing, but while you are testing it, it is free.



Edit the images

Canva's image or photo editing and enhancement features include photo effects, free icons, vignette effect, photo frame effect, blur and enhance, text insertion, and many more. Here's how to use some of them:

Straighten photos: Use the rotate tool along with guides and rulers to perfectly align photos, text, and design elements. Select the curved arrow to rotate and tilt the image by the desired degrees. Search for “ruler” in the library and drag the extendable, scalable measuring tape for even greater precision. Just no more crooked photos.


Add text: If storytelling is your thing, select the photo, then choose the text tool to start typing. Personalize the message by changing the font, style, and color.
