Now you can create your video template. In Ads Creative Studio, the default video template has a play time of 15 seconds and contains one element. You can change all of these settings by clicking "Edit Template." First, go to the "Position and Size" tab to choose the correct orientation. In this example, we will create a vertical aspect ratio video that is optimized for Shorts feed.

Next, go to the Time tab and adjust as needed. Use the ad type specifications to guide you. For example, non-skippable video ads typically run for 15 seconds, while pre-roll ads run for 6 seconds. Skippable ads can run longer, but they need to have a strong hook within the first 5 seconds.

Then go to the Assets tab and upload a video clip or get one from the Ads Creative Studio asset library. Click "Add Elements" to repeat the process and add as many clips as you need to complete the template. (Ads Creative Studio supports up to five elements per video element.) Make sure to adjust the start time of each clip to avoid overlap.

By default, no elements are marked interchangeable. You can leave this setting if you don't want any elements to be interchangeable. But if you plan to create variations using different video clips, be sure to designate at least one video element as swappable.
