TikTok nears US data deal
TikTok is nearing a deal with Oracle Corp to store its US users' data without Chinese parent company ByteDance having access to it. With the change of presidency, that didn't happen, but a partnership was formed between TikTok and Oracle to address any security concerns.
Under the agreement reached a few days ago, a dedicated data management team of about 100 people will be established in the United States to act as gatekeepers for information . The team, which will be composed mostly of engineers and cybersecurity experts, will operate without any control or oversight from TikTok.
