It is recognized as one of the oldest and most prestigious tapestry companies in Europe and stands out for the uniqueness of its pieces. All the rugs produced by Ferreira de Sá Rugs are unique, exclusive and personalized pieces, which are displayed as authentic works of art that adorn luxury hotels, haute couture stores, restaurants, bars and tea rooms, yachts, museums and public buildings, as well as offices and luxury residential projects.
More than 75 years after its inception in 1946, the manual art of weaving is still alive, but as time has changed, 100% manual production has given way to modern robots that ensure faster production. There are currently 17 robots that streamline a completely personalized production process, with the acquisition of four more robotic equipment planned for this year.
" We are experiencing a phase of strong growth in the israel whatsapp number database segment. Our goal is for sales through agents and/or distributors to represent the company's largest market segment this year, surpassing sales in the Private Label segment ," explains Ferreira de Sá Rugs' financial and other services director, Júlio Alves.
A business that thrives on modernity and tradition
Here, modernity and tradition are perfectly combined. Alongside the weavers and their traditional looms, there is modern, fully automated robotic equipment that connects the factory floor to the central management system, the PRIMAVERA ERP, from which data is obtained to manage a business that grew by around 45% in 2021 compared to the previous year and which is expected to turn over 22 million euros in 2022, 85% of which will come from the foreign market.
PRIMAVERA ERP ensures integrated management of the factory floor
With a Bespoke production model - that is, each piece is unique and unrepeatable - it is essential to have agility in production planning and management , particularly with regard to the technical specifications of each order.
Due to this model, the preparation of manufacturing orders is completely individualized for each unit produced and requires a high degree of information accuracy, from the moment the order is received until the moment the part is delivered to the customer. To this end, a set of information systems was designed, all of them connected to the PRIMAVERA ERP, to ensure that on the factory floor it is easy to access manufacturing order information and that decision-makers in the various operational areas have access to consolidated and reliable information to support decision-making.
For over 20 years, PRIMAVERA ERP has been the central piece that unites information and guarantees data accuracy, says the person responsible for information systems.
" The PRIMAVERA ERP, in terms of data integrity and information reliability, is very strong. We are guaranteed that all transactions and movements are recorded, which allows us to know who did what, when and how, thanks to its traceability and validation mechanisms that we have developed and which give us a high level of accuracy. We have total confidence in the system ", comments the person responsible for the information systems development area, André Silva.
A puzzle of systems united by ERP
Managing an industrial business with just one information system is unthinkable, but creating a puzzle of systems that work as one is possible, and is one of the reasons for the success of this company's management.
" We have several integrated systems, but for the user it is as if we only work with PRIMAVERA, a very user-friendly and easy-to-use software, people don't even realize when they are entering another system and that is, for us, a huge advantage, being able to create all the specific developments of our activity on top of PRIMAVERA, with the guarantees of robustness of the information that the system gives us ", comments André Silva.
In the PRIMAVERA ERP, information from various systems is automatically integrated, specifically from CRM (Customer Relationship Management), production management software, time clock system, picking system, scales system, camera system and telephone exchange, allowing a global view of the entire business, which is enhanced by the analyses and management reports designed specifically in the PRIMAVERA Office Extensions solution .
A path of continuous technological evolution
Since 2014, Ferreira de Sá Rugs has been investing intensively in the digitalization of business processes and continuously developing new functionalities on top of the PRIMAVERA ERP, with the aim of maximum digitalization.
Rolando Conceição, head of technological infrastructures, highlights: " We have been working with PRIMAVERA solutions for around 20 years, but for the past 5 years we have been making a major investment in our digital evolution, so that we have all the information digitalized and controlled from PRIMAVERA, from the receipt of the order, through the final process of photographing the product, to shipping, everything has been optimized to eliminate redundancy and eliminate errors ."
With the recent integration of a new company into the group, digital evolution will also involve the implementation of PRIMAVERA management solutions in the new unit. But the group's digital transformation process will not stop there.
At the beginning of 2022, the migration process to version 10 of ERP PRIMAVERA, the latest management technology made available by the technology company, will be completed, as well as the implementation of a document management solution that will completely eliminate the circulation of paper within the company.
