However, these chats are device-specific and do not sync across multiple devices.

When it comes to data storage, Telegram does store data from regular chats on its servers, albeit in encrypted form. Telegram claims that it uses a distributed infrastructure, storing user data in multiple data centers around the world with the goal of preventing unauthorized access. The company also asserts that the keys necessary to decrypt this data are stored in different locations than the actual data itself, adding another layer of protection. Still, since Telegram controls both the data and the keys, the security ultimately relies on the company's internal practices and policies.
