Research conducted by Harvard Business School since 1997 shows that Total Shareholder Value increases by 20% when an organization works on engagement from within. This leads to employee satisfaction and loyalty, which in turn results in better customer service, customer relations and turnover. Colleague Martijn calls this reverse advertising: think about after-sales service, delivery, the transaction, etc. when developing a campaign. Two good examples of this: Unilever's Sustainable Living program and IBM's Smarter Planet program , which is largely driven by smart(er) use of big data.
Tracking happiness
Researchers from Cambridge University have developed an app that monitors latvia phone number list happiness via smartphone use. This EmotionSense app (Android) collects information about where the user is, how noisy their environment is and who they are communicating with. In addition, the user reports their mood to the app at set times. The app then combines all input and reports it back to the user. Intern Rogier de Vries installed the app on his Android smartphone on 13 May. “By entering your mood on a grid of emotions every day, the app is able to paint a picture of you,” says Rogier. “You also unlock a new sensor every week to further explore who you are and what you do, and how you feel about it. You are expected to provide input daily, which in my case led to routine filling in behavior after 3 weeks. I chose transience over contemplation.”
It seems, given Rogier's user experience, that the app is too scientifically focused, and that the researchers did not take enough account of an inspiring UX. If you have a different - better - experience, I would like to hear about it.
