In our case, auto-lock was enabled, which caused USB debugging to become inactive. We temporarily disabled auto-lock, which allowed us to enable USB debugging and continue our task. If you have the same problem, temporarily disable auto-lock:

Click "Auto-Lock" .

2. Change the USB connection mode.
If USB debugging is not working on your Samsung Galaxy phone, the USB connection mode may be set to Charging Only , not one that allows file transfer or debugging.

After connecting your phone to your computer, swipe down from the top of your phone's screen to open the notification panel.
Tap the USB charging notification .
Change it to File Transfer .
