Conversion is the number of applicants passing between stages, expressed as a percentage. There is a general conversion, which is measured by the indicators between the first and last stages of the funnel. It shows the overall productivity of the work done. There is an intermediate conversion, which reveals problems at each stage.
Conversion is calculated using the following formula:

Below is an example of calculating a recruitment funnel.

The recruitment funnel example shows good conversion, as well as the competent use of resources of both the recruiter and the manager.
If the conversion between the number of resumes received and those invited to interviews is less than 10%, this signals that the recruiter is not working effectively and is spending a lot of time processing irrelevant responses. The problem should be looked for in the method of attracting applicants.
A decrease in the success rate at the screening stage means that the technician is wasting time interviewing unsuitable candidates. Sometimes there is a decrease in conversion at the job offer stage, when the candidate either does not start working or leaves during the trial period.
