Classification according to the benefit of the content for the consumer
In general, you have to differentiate between the purpose and benefit of content in relation to the respective perspectives of consumers and creators or companies. I define benefit as what the content should achieve from the consumer's perspective.
The possible benefit of a content can basically be described by the following attributes:
Conversation (Emotional)
Helping / Making People Effective (Rational)
Building Relationships (Emotional)
support purchasing decisions
Navigation / Orientation (Rational)
It can happen that several attributes apply to a piece of content. An informative text can also be entertaining or sales-oriented and vice versa. Nevertheless, it makes sense to assign content to a main benefit, especially with a view to the key figures to be measured for measuring success. It is also helpful to carry out this classification with a view to the keywords for which the content should rank. Keyword: search intent .
Often, content that can be found on Google for information-oriented keywords has the property of "building relationships" or "conveying knowledge / helping". Conversely, content that can be found for commercial or transaction-oriented keywords often has the purpose of providing information about products.
